Bulk import is for when you’re coming from another system with existing data / you have a large catalog to load all at once / you need to update prices or stock for many products / or the supplier sends you the list in Excel. Instead of loading product by product, you do it all at once.
Download the template
Go to Products → Import → Download template. The template has the correct columns and examples.
Fill out the template
Open the file in Excel and fill in each column:
name (required) — Product name
sku (required) — Unique code. Must be unique.
cost_price (required) — No symbols or periods (e.g. 50000)
sale_price (required) — No symbols or periods (e.g. 80000)
vat (required) — 10 / 5 / or 0
description (optional) — Product details
barcode (optional) — EAN/UPC
category (optional) — Category name
stock (optional) — Initial stock
minimum_stock (optional) — Alert level
Upload the file
In Focal Point, click Select file / choose your completed Excel file / the system processes it and shows a preview.
Review validation
The system checks each row:
✅ Green — Valid data / will be imported
⚠️ Yellow — Warning / review, but it can continue
❌ Red — Error / must be corrected
Fix errors
If there are errors: download the file with the errors marked / correct it in Excel / upload it again. Common errors: duplicate SKU / empty or invalid price / non-existent category.
Confirm import
When everything is green, click Import / wait for the process / you’ll see a summary with the number of products imported.
Update existing products
If the SKU already exists, you have two options:
Skip — Existing products are not changed. Only the new ones are created.
Update — Products with an existing SKU are updated. Useful for bulk price changes.
Check the Update existing option before importing.
Tips
Always use the official template to avoid formatting errors / make a backup export before updating / try it first with 5-10 products / prices should be entered without decimals (guaraníes don’t have cents). For very large catalogs, split them into batches of 500 products.
